SpaceX to Perform Second Integrated Flight Test of Starship Vehicle

Launch Scheduled for Saturday, November 18th with 20-Minute Window

SpaceX is preparing for the second integrated flight test (IFT-2) of its Starship spacecraft, scheduled for launch on Saturday, November 18th. The launch is expected to take place during a 20-minute window that opens at 8 am EST (1300 GMT). The flight test will be the second integrated test of the Starship launch vehicle.

Starship is a fully reusable spacecraft and the second stage of the Starship system. The vehicle comes in several different configurations and offers an integrated payload section. SpaceX plans to use Starship for a variety of missions, including launching satellites into orbit, transporting cargo and crew to the Moon and Mars, and supporting future space exploration initiatives.

The second test flight of SpaceX's giant Starship rocket has been given the green light to take place as early as November 18th. SpaceX has stacked its Starship rocket on top of a Super Heavy booster in South Texas, beginning final preparations for the upcoming launch.

The launch date is set for Saturday, November 18th, 2023 at 10:02 PM UTC. Booster 9 and Ship 25 will be used for this launch. SpaceX, Elon Musk's spaceflight company, will launch its Starship rocket from the coast of South Texas for the second integrated flight test.

The plan is for the Starship to achieve near-orbital velocity during the flight test. SpaceX will be targeting a launch for its third Starship test flight as early as March 14th, according to the company.

SpaceX aims to launch the next test flight of its giant Starship rocket in six to eight weeks, according to Elon Musk. The Federal Aviation Administration approved the commercial launch license for the fourth test flight of SpaceX's Starship rocket Tuesday.
